I am a registered medical practitioner with special expertise in Clinical Forensic Medicine. During my training and practice as a Forensic Physician I have acquired an understanding of those principles of Law pertaining to Forensic Medicine and those police procedures concerning investigation and detention of individuals. My experience has been acquired in some 8,000 cases. My expertise spans the full range of clinical forensic medicine and includes: fitness for interview, the interpretation of injuries, all forms of assault and road traffic medicine.

As an Expert Witness I appreciate the criminal and civil procedures rules that operate in court in respect of evidence disclosure and presentation, the provision of expert opinion at pre-trial conference when giving evidence in court

I have 17 years of service with the States of Jersey Police, where I was one of three Forensic Medical Examiners working in the Island of Jersey and I am a Tier II Forensic Medical Examiner with the Metropolitan Police Service.

My knowledge is underpinned by academic qualifications; a Masters in Forensic Medicine & Bioethics and a Research Master of Laws both from the University of Central Lancashire.

I am a Fellow of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medcine of the Royal College of Physicians and a Professional Member of the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences.

In 2017 I was appointed Relief Coroner, in the Viscounts Depatment of the Royal Court of Jersey.
